Patroness of the city of Puno.
Typical dances accompanied by musical bands take place on the main day which is February 2. About eight days later, but always on a Sunday, the "Octava"
is celebrated. This is one week of dances in beautiful finery, an exhibition of nearly 80 dancing groups displaying multicolor costumes. You will see famous dances such as la "Diablada", "Morenadas", "Sicuris". Mid-week there is the the "Cacharpari", or farewell to the band of musicians and dancers.
